Ladybirds' Schmauch takes second at Palmyra

PALMYRA - North Callaway sophomore Reyna Schmauch took second place in 21 minutes, 16.2 seconds to guide the Ladybirds cross country team at the Palmyra Invitational on Tuesday.

Schmauch - who lowered her personal-best time by an incredible 35 seconds - was one of two medalists for North Callaway. Sophomore Alyssa Rinehart came in 13th in 24:39.3. Also placing for the Ladybirds were sophomore Brooke Fischer (21st, 26:10.1) and freshman Christa Gilmann (22nd, 26:18.7).

Placing for North Callaway in the boys' division were freshman Khobi Kellerman (30th, 21:13.1), freshman Ean Rohrbach (45th, 22:55.1), freshman Josh McCowan (48th, 23:20.1), freshman Evan Roesner (23:37.6), sophomore Skyler Barker (53rd, 23:50.2), freshman Josh Craghead (57th, 24:26.5), and freshman Keaton Rice (60th, 27:18.7).

In the junior high girls' race, Kaleigh Moore was victorious in her first-ever race with a time of 11:01.7 as the Ladybirds captured the team title. Other North Callaway medalists included River Nolting (3rd, 11:09.1), Kira Douglas (6th, 12:05.2), Brianna Douglas (8th, 12:14.3), and Kaylee English (9th, 12:22.6).

Also placing for the Ladybirds were Emalee Edger (16th, 13:29.7), Olivia Brown (21st, 14:36.8), and Julisa Moreno (23rd, 15:33.9).

Placing for North Callaway in the junior high boys' race were Finnian Clark (17th, 12:17.5), Noah Scrogum (25th, 12:59.7), and Chandler Goble (27th, 13:35.1).

North Callaway's varsity squads run in the Linn Invitational at 9 a.m. Saturday.
