Lady Blue Jays volleyball team finishes 2-2 at Wisconsin tournament

PLATTEVILLE, Wis. - The Westminster College Lady Blue Jays volleyball team broke even at the University of Wisconsin-Platteville Tournament after splitting its matches Saturday.

Westminster College edged Wisconsin-Platteville 20-25, 25-22, 26-24, 22-25 and 15-12, but was then swept by Gustavus Adolphus 25-14, 25-17 and 25-22 to conclude tournament play.

Junior middle hitter Amanda Kiso paced the Lady Blue Jays (3-2) with 18 kills in their victory over Wisconsin-Platteville. Junior setter Kayla Reeg also recorded 32 assists and 19 digs, while senior middle hitter Lexi Collier finished with four blocks.

Collier posted nine kills and Reeg contributed 23 assists and 11 digs in the loss to Gustavus Adolphus.

Westminster began tournament play Friday by sweeping Ripon College 25-22, 25-13 and 25-19, before falling to Cornell College 25-19, 20-25, 25-15 and 28-26.

Collier led the Lady Blue Jays with eight kills in the win over Ripon, while Reeg chipped in with 27 assists, nine digs and three service aces. Sophomore outside hitter Hannah Marshall provided a team-high 13 kills and Reeg contributed 31 assists in the loss to Cornell. Freshman defensive specialist Bridget Ringwald chipped in with 15 digs.

Westminster opens St. Louis Intercollegiate Athletic Conference play this Saturday in Illinois with matches against Iowa Wesleyan (11 a.m.) and host Greenville College (1 p.m.).
