Lady Hornets volleyball team knocks off Eugene

Sophomore outside hitter Kate Pani logged 10 kills to steer the Fulton Lady Hornets volleyball team to a 25-14, 25-19 non-conference triumph over Eugene on Thursday night at Roger D. Davis Gymnasium.

Senior setter Kenzie Shaw chipped in with 26 assists and two aces for Fulton (3-1), while senior defensive specialist Michaela Huff provided 10 digs.

"We really focused on running a fast-tempo offense and it really worked out in our favor," Lady Hornets head coach Megan Youse said. "Eugene's defense wasn't able to keep up."

Junior outside hitter Katlyn Jackson's 10 kills guided Fulton (3-1) to a 25-22, 25-19 win in the junior varsity match. Junior outside hitter Sydney Dungan supplied 10 digs and four aces, while junior setter Colleen Van Norman finished with 19 assists.

The Lady Hornets play a tripleheader at North Central Missouri Conference opponent Kirksville at 5:30 p.m. Tuesday.
