No. 2 Missouri Baptist sweeps Lady Owls volleyball team

The William Woods University Lady Owls volleyball team dropped its second match in a row with Tuesday night's 25-14, 30-28 and 25-20 AMC loss to the second-ranked Missouri Baptist University Lady Spartans at Anderson Arena.

The setback left William Woods University at 22-12 overall and 9-2 in the American Midwest Conference. Missouri Baptist University improved to 29-3 on the season and remained perfect in conference play at 10-0.

Junior middle blocker Stephanie Davis topped the Lady Owls with nine kills, while senior outside hitter Emily Becker and freshman outside hitter Tory Wiley supplied seven apiece. Sophomore setter Brittney Engelbrecht tallied 27 assists and junior defensive specialist Shelby Hinshaw registered eight digs.

William Woods remains at home for a non-conference matchup against No. 24 Grand View (Iowa) University at 2 p.m. Saturday.
