Lady Blue Jays volleyball team rallies past Webster

The Westminster College Lady Blue Jays volleyball team overcame a two-set deficit in rallying for a 23-25, 16-25, 25-22, 25-18 and 15-9 SLIAC home win over the Webster University Lady Gorloks on Tuesday night.

Westminster College - winners of three in a row - pushed its season record to 20-7 with the comeback victory and raised its St. Louis Intercollegiate Athletic Conference mark to 15-2. Webster University slipped to 14-15 overall and 12-4 in the SLIAC.

Sophomore outside hitter Hannah Marshall directed the Lady Blue Jays with a match-high 18 kills and senior middle hitter Lexi Collier contributed 10. Junior setter Kayla Reeg recorded 40 kills and a match-high 26 digs, followed by freshman libero Bridget Ringwald and freshman outside hitter Micha Frasher with 20 and 19 digs, respectively.

Westminster travels to Rock Island, Ill., to play in Augustana College's Pumpkin Bash, starting with matches Friday against Dubuque (3 p.m.) and Coe (7 p.m.). The Lady Blue Jays conclude tournament play Saturday against North Park (10 a.m.) and Augustana (noon).
