Ladybirds volleyball team drops regular-season finale

KINGDOM CITY - The North Callaway Ladybirds volleyball team closed out the regular season by falling to the Father Tolton Lady Trailblazers 25-9, 25-9 on Thursday night.

Senior middle hitter Destri Eichman recorded one kill and two blocks for North Callaway (8-14), which has now dropped two straight matches after winning five in a row. Senior outside hitter Bethany Bloss finished with one kill and one block, while junior middle hitter Colleen Meffert had one kill.

The Ladybirds' junior varsity (4-12) completed its season with a 25-20, 16-25 and 25-13 loss to Father Tolton.

North Callaway - drawing the fourth seed - clashes with No. 5 Russellville at 5:30 p.m. Monday in the first round of the Class 2, District 7 Tournament at Father Tolton in Columbia. The Ladybirds split matches with Russellville during the regular season.
