Lady Hornets volleyball team downs NCMC foe Kirksville

Senior setter Kenzie Shaw recorded 15 assists Thursday night to help steer the Fulton Lady Hornets volleyball team to a 25-17, 25-12 North Central Missouri Conference win at Roger D. Davis Gymnasium.

Sophomore outside hitter Kati Pani also provided six kills and three aces for Fulton (9-8, 5-3 NCMC), while senior outside hitter Maddie Droeste supplied seven digs.

"It was senior night, so it was really nice to send them off on a high note," Lady Hornets head coach Megan Youse said. "They did a fantastic job of playing with high energy."

Fulton's senior players include opposite hitter Madi Tobias, middle hitter Hannah Cerda, libero Amanda Allison and defensive specialist Michaela Huff.

The Lady Hornets (6-7) triumphed in the junior varsity match 25-11 and 25-18. Junior setter Colleen Van Norman provided 16 aces and eight assists, while sophomore libero Kyleigh Davis added eight digs.

Fulton (1-8-1) lost the freshman match 25-15 and 25-12. Right-side hitter Julia Mendez produced two digs and one kill, outside hitter Leah Speer contributed two digs and setter Rileigh Huffman had two assists.

The Lady Hornets play Metro Academy at 9:30 a.m. Saturday at the Eldon Tournament.
