Lady Blue Jays volleyball team sweeps MacMurray in regular-season finale

The host Westminster College Lady Blue Jays volleyball team stopped a four-match losing streak with a 25-12, 25-14 and 26-24 SLIAC triumph over the MacMurray (Ill.) College Lady Highlanders in Tuesday night's regular-season finale.

Westminster College (21-11, 16-2 St. Louis Intercollegiate Athletic Conference) secured the second seed for the conference's postseason tournament and will clash with No. 3 Webster University in the semifinals at 4 p.m. Saturday at Greenville (Ill.) College. The Lady Blue Jays rallied from a two-game deficit to down the Lady Gorloks 23-25, 16-25, 25-22, 25-18 and 15-9 on Oct. 27 in Fulton.

Host and top-seeded Greenville will play No. 4 Fontbonne University in the first semifinal at 2 p.m. Saturday. The SLIAC championship match is scheduled for 7 p.m.

Sophomore outside hitter Hannah Marshall paced Westminster with a match-high 14 kills Tuesday night and senior middle hitter Lexi Collier contributed 10. Junior setter Kayla Reeg also produced a double-double with a match-high 32 assists and 12 digs.
