Fulton, New Bloomfield district games rained out

The Hornets and Wildcats, respectively, will have to wait a couple of days after their district openers were rained out Saturday.

Fulton (10-14), earning the fifth seed, will now meet No. 4 Moberly at 1 p.m. Monday in the first round of the Class 4, District 8 Tournament in Mexico. The Hornets dropped both North Central Missouri Conference meetings with the Spartans during the regular season - 2-1 at Moberly on April 16 and 7-3 in Fulton on April 28.

Meanwhile, New Bloomfield (11-8) is the host and No. 3 seed for the Class 2, District 8 Tournament, and will face No. 6 Russellville at 2 p.m. Monday. The Wildcats roughed up Russellville 13-4 in a Show-Me Conference romp on May 4 in New Bloomfield.
