New Bloomfield sophomore Gannon Withers will enter the Class 1 boys' golf championships armed with a top-10 sectional showing.
Withers posted a 15-over-par 87, finishing in a tie for seventh place at the Sectional 1 championships on Monday at Dalhousie Golf Club.
He won't travel far for in seeking a state title as the two-day Class 1 boys' golf championships are set to tee off on Monday, May 18 at the Wildcats' home course, Meadow Lake Acres Country Club in New Bloomfield.
Wildcat seniors Tyler Grace and Ridge Martin each carded a 100 to finish in a three-way tie for 25th place.
Advance's Brian Whitson posted an even-par 72 to take top sectional honors. Advance triumphed in the team standings with a composite score of 336.
