A Fulton man was arrested Friday night following a car chase, according to a Callaway County Sheriff's Office press release.

Deputies responded to a call of shots fired near Old Highway 54 and County Road 411 at about 8:30 Friday night. About a half an hour later, a car chase ensued when deputies saw the suspect's vehicle, the release stated.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol assisted deputies as they pursued the vehicle, starting at Old 54 and State Road BB then crossing Highway 54 onto County Road 338. The chase continued across State Road J in Guthrie and onto State Road Y.

A couple miles down State Road Y, the suspect vehicle turned into a field, crashing through a fence. Shortly after that, deputies took the driver,

Travis Schroer of Fulton, into custody, the release stated.

He was booked into the Callaway County Jail on felony resisting arrest and multiple traffic charges. His bond was set at $20,000 cash only.

A female passenger was also detained for questioning. Deputies are withholding her identity pending further investigation, according to the press release.

There were no injuries.
