Vehicle search leads to drug arrests of two Fulton residents

Two Fulton residents were arrested Friday morning after police allegedly discovered drugs following a vehicle search.

Fulton Police, assisted by the MUSTANG Drug Task Force, stopped a vehicle at north U.S. Highway 54 and Route HH in Fulton for a traffic offense, according to a Fulton Police Department press release.

Officers identified two occupants as Brian Oldham, 40, of Fulton, and Tabitha Cottam, 30, of Fulton, and discovered both had active Callaway County warrants for distribution of a controlled substance.

The Columbia Police Department K-9 unit came to the scene, utilizing a drug dog to signal the possibility of controlled substance inside the vehicle. Police found methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia during the search, the release states.

Oldham and Cottam were arrested for possession of a controlled substance with intent to distribute and possession of drug paraphernalia. Oldham was also arrested for driving while revoked.

Oldham's total bond for warrants and additional charges is $50,800. Total bond for Cottam's warrants and additional charges is set at $95,500.

Further charges are pending an investigation.
