Westminster men's tennis team edged out by Nebraska Wesleyan

The Blue Jays' losing streak reached four games after bowing to the Prairie Wolves 7-2 on Saturday.

Sophomore Scott Strough and freshman Adam Fuchs combined to log three wins for Westminster (1-5).

Fuchs notched a three-set win at No. 2 singles, toppling Pedro Bethlem 5-7, 6-3 and 10-8. Strough - a Fulton High graduate - upended Andrew Finker 6-0 and 7-6 in the No. 4 singles pairing.

The two teamed up to beat Bethlem and Finker 8-3 in the No. 2 doubles match.

Junior Kyle Collins notched the Blue Jays' other victory, downing Hale Breit 2-6, 7-5, 1-0 (11-9) at No. 3 singles.

The Blue Jays non-conference foe in their home opener at 4 p.m. Wednesday.
