WWU's French earns second all-AMC second-team nod

Lady Owls senior guard Blake French picked up a second consecutive all-American Midwest Conference second-team selection on Monday.

French led William Woods in scoring at 11.7 points per game, shot a team-high 50 percent from the field and led the Lady Owls with 47 steals.

Junior Nia Lateju - a junior-college transfer - was a third-team selection at forward after finishing second in scoring (11.5 per game) and rebounding (5.3), while knocking down 45 percent from the floor.

Sophomore center Kennedy Volkart garnered honorable mention recognition, scoring 9.9 points per outing and grabbing a team-high 6.7 rebounds per game.

The Lady Owls (23-8) earned an automatic bid as the host school in the NAIA Tournament, which kicks off Wednesday, March 18 in Independence.
