WWU quartet compete at NAIA Indoor Championships

Madeline Emme, Lee Anna Sanders, Nick Zink and Adam Smith represented William Woods at the NAIA Indoor National Championships over the weekend.

Emme - a redshirt senior and a three-time national qualifier - placed 16th in the women's 60-meter hurdles with a time of 9.07 seconds. Sanders - also a senior - earned 18th in the 5,000-meter run, finishing in a time of 18:17.61.

Smith, a junior, fouled on his first two attempts in the men's weight throw, but notched a toss of 14.9 meters on his final try to claim 20th place.

The senior Zink failed to place after being disqualified in his 600-meter preliminary run.

The Owls and Lady Owls begin their outdoor seasons at the Park University Invitational on Tuesday, March 17 in Parkville.
