Traffic stop turns into drug arrest of Fulton man

Clayton Key Craddock of Fulton was arrested Friday after failing to stop at a stop sign on Nichols Street near Fifth Street at 10:30 p.m., according to a Fulton Police Department press release. Craddock, who was driving on a suspended license, fled the scene but was later apprehended by officers in the 100 block of W. Fifth Street.

Craddock was allegedly concealing a prohibited weapon when taken into custody. He was in possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia, the release stated, and a vehicle search revealed prepackaged methamphetamine, prescription narcotics and marijuana for distribution. The officers allegedly also recovered packaging materials, a digital scale and other items indicating drug sales.

Craddock was arrested for possession with the intent to distribute a controlled substance, felony resisting arrest, assault on law enforcement, unlawful use of a weapon, driving on a suspended license, possession of a controlled substance and unlawful use of drug paraphernalia.

He was taken into custody at Callaway County Jail on a $35,000 cash-only bond. The investigation is ongoing and additional charges could be pending.
