Fulton Fins win big at Mid-Missouri championships

The Fulton Fins closed out their season collecting a staggering 108 medals at the Mid-Missouri Conference Swim Championships on Saturday, July 11.

Fulton competed against conference foes Jefferson City, Mexico, Centralia, California, Boonville, Sedalia and Eldon.

Fins who triumphed in all five of their events include Tia Bastian, Brooke Baysinger, Kaylee English, Mackenzie McDaniel, Ethan Milius and Stella Wagner. McDaniel set a new conference record in the 6-and-under 25-meter freestyle with a time of 21.03 seconds.

The mixed 9 and 10-year-old relay foursome of Wagner, Taylor Hickerson, Dominick Tharp and Gavin Rasmussen set new conference highs in the freestyle relay (1:07.25) and medley relay (1:22.31).

Other individual gold medalists include Hannah Siegel, Nicole Casey, Peyton Boulware, Tyler Hickerson and Destri Dungan.

First-place relay teams included the mixed 8U freestyle, the girls' 11-13 freestyle, the mixed 14-18 freestyle, the girls' 14-18 freestyle, the mixed 8U medley, the mixed 9-10 medley, the girls' 11-13 medley and the girls' 14-18 medley.

Individual silver medalists include Kaleigh Moore, Jacob Hughey, Brenden Dungan and Alyssa Deuel.

Second-place relays included the girls' 8U freestyle and medley teams and the girls' 9-10 medley.

Individual bronze medalists include Cooper Safranski, Riley Edgar, Cade Miller, Grace Rasmussen, Clayton Moore, Grace Siegel and Aaron Brady.

Baysinger was named the team's overall outstanding female swimmer, while Dungan and Tyler Hickerson shared overall outstanding male swimmer honors. Deuel earned the Eric Haus Award and Peyton and Blake Boulware collected the "For the Love of Swimming" award.

Outstanding swimmers in each age group include McDaniel (girls' 6U), Miller (boys' 6U), Addison Fansler (girls' 7-8), Milius (boys' 7-8), Wagner (girls' 9-10), Gavin Rasmussen (boys' 9-10), English (girls' 11-12), Brady (boys' 11-12), Bastian (girls' 13-14), Tyler Hickerson (boys' 13-14), Casey (girls' 15-18) and Brendan Dungan (boys' 15-18).
