MSD boys down Kansas, Iowa

The Eagles outscored the Jackrabbits 26-15 after halftime to claim a 48-28 win on Saturday.

MSD (7-4) built on the 22-13 advantage they carried into the break, countering Kansas' man-to-man defense with a full-court pressure scheme of its own.

Eagles junior guard Joseph Allen led all scorers with 20 points on 7-of-13 shooting from the field. Senior forward Benson Goodwin added 14 points, while junior forward Terrell Owens added seven.

Goodwin tallied 16 points and seven rebounds in MSD's 56-22 rout of Iowa School for the Deaf Bobcats in Saturday's early game. The Eagles blanked the Bobcats 18-0 in the second quarter to take a 30-7 halftime lead.

Sophomore guard Ste'Quan Scott finished with 15 points, five rebounds, four steals, three assists and a blocked shot. Allen contributed 14 points and sophomore guard Scott Percy added nine.
