Lady Blue Jays' Njie sets school record at Illinois College

Westminster senior Nyima Njie broke her own 200-meter dash school record at the Illinois College Snow Bird Open on Saturday.

Njie clocked a 12th-place time of 28.15 seconds. Junior Brier Skogsberg finished fifth in the 3000-meter run with a time of 11:42.57 as the Lady Blue Jays took 14th place as a team.

Senior Michael Lutz became the program's first-ever entrant in the weight throw, finishing with a toss of 10.45 meters. Senior Daniel Lindaman clocked a fourth-place time of 4:41.76 in the 1600-meter run, while freshman Glen Teubner earned fourth at 3000 meters in 9:26.01.

Lindaman, junior Jesse Edwards, sophomore Ryan Dyer and freshman Chandler Yeary earned fifth in the distance medley with a time of 11:35.1 as the Blue Jays finished 13th as a team.

Both Westminster teams will run at the Principia College Relays at 1 p.m. on Friday.
