Freshman point guard Adrian Mann posted a game-high 17 points in the Lady Bulldogs' 60-29 Show-Me Conference rout of the Lady Wildcats on Thursday night.
Sophomore guard Nicole Horstman scored all 11 of her points in the first quarter to key a strong start for South Callaway (10-5, 6-1 SMC).
"I thought really and truly we came out with a lot of energy," Lady Bulldogs head coach Darren Humphrey said. "We had a super amount of energy tonight; we had some kids who were sick this week and fighting flus and colds, and they just came out and gave it their all."
Sophomore center Konnor Arrowood logged 12 points for South Callaway.
Hayley Dorton tallied 12 points to lead Linn.
The Lady Bulldogs (6-1) prevailed 21-6 in the junior varsity game. Freshman guard Ashley Potter totalled a team-high nine points and junior guard Ashley Miller added seven.
The Lady Bulldogs earned the third seed for the 31st-annual Sturgeon Tournament and will play No. 6 New Franklin in the first round at 7:30 p.m. Monday.
"If we can take a little bit of this momentum and take it out into the first game of the tournament, we'll be just fine," Humphrey said.
