Bush Elementary second grade students in Kathy Moore's class learned the ins and outs of the Callaway County Public Library on Wednesday during a tour. Children's librarian Jeralyn Hahn taught the children how books are classified, how to search for books and what resources the library offers.

The visit started with Hahn reading, "The Shelf Elf," a popular children's book about an elf who explores a library while learning library etiquette. The young students also purchased library cards if they did not already own one.

Each child brought home a bag that included a book list, pencil and a coupon for a free book. Hahn said she hopes the coupon and library card will encourage children and their families to come in to the library.
