William Woods women snap four-game skid

The Lady Owls ended their four-game losing streak with a 72-31 AMC rout of the winless Lady Eutectics on Thursday night at Anderson Arena.

William Woods University (9-5, 5-4 American Midwest Conference) opened the game on a 21-0 run over the first 12 minutes, 18 seconds and breezed into halftime with a commanding 40-8 advantage.

Sophomore center Kennedy Volkart paced the Lady Owls with 11 points on 4-of-9 shooting. Senior guard Paige Stewart logged 10 points on 4-of-7 baskets. William Woods shot just 39 percent (29-of-74) from the field, including 29 percent (9-of-31) from 3-point range.

The Lady Owls' bench outscored the entire St. Louis College of Pharmacy team 48-0.

Junior forward Nia Lateju scored seven points and collected a game-high nine rebounds as William Woods dominated the boards with a decisive 63-28 edge.

Emi Santhuff produced a game-high 15 points for the Lady Eutectics (0-9, 0-8), while Jaime Everett finished with six. College of Pharmacy shot a woeful 20 percent (11-of-55) as a team.

William Woods travels to Park University for an AMC matchup at 2 p.m. Saturday.
