Hornets wrestling team stays perfect with Hannibal win

The Fulton Hornets wrestling team was not slowed by an almost three-week holiday layoff.

Fulton broke a 7-all tie by winning five straight weight classes - four by pin - and the Hornets stayed unbeaten with a 49-19 North Central Missouri Conference dual victory over the Hannibal Pirates on Thursday night.

Fulton - which hadn't wrestled since Dec. 19-20, when it prevailed in all eight of its matches at the Moberly Spartan Duals - improved to 12-0 overall and 2-0 in the NCMC.

"Overall, I thought we did a nice job and the kids were pretty competitive," Hornets head coach Eric Hudson said. "We thought the match might be a little tighter than it was."
