North Callaway girls wallop Wellsville

Senior guard Elaine Brinker outscored the Lady Warriors by herself as the Ladybirds cruised to a 64-12 Eastern Missouri Conference triumph on Saturday.

Brinker logged a game-high 17 points, hitting on 8-of-11 field goals and knocking down all seven of her 2-point attempts. She also led all players with eight steals, pulled in five rebounds and tied the team lead with four assists.

North Callaway (5-5, 3-0 EMO) held a 30-8 advantage at halftime and limited Wellsville to single-digit scoring outputs in all four quarters. The Ladybirds outscored the Lady Warriors 34-4 after intermission.

"Defensively, we played excellently for four quarters," North Callaway head coach Matt Miller said. "Our offense got going in the second half."

Junior guard Maddie Ausfahl came off the bench to register nine points and a team-high eight rebounds. Junior forward Bethany Bloss and junior guard Erinn Bush each tallied nine points, while junior guard Bailey Langworthy finished with just two points, but handed out four assists and garnered six steals.

Jordan Kellogg and Taylor Sewell each scored six to lead Wellsville (0-9, 0-2).

The Ladybirds stay on the road for an EMO clash with Montgomery County at 6 p.m. Thursday.
