Fulton man arrested for armed robbery

A Fulton man is in custody in connection with an armed robbery at a Fulton convenience store early Thursday morning.

According to a Fulton Police Department press release, officers were dispatched to the Break Time convenience store at 399 W. Fourth St. at 2:41a.m. Upon arrival, the clerk told them a white male wearing a mask and displaying a knife had demanded money from the register. The suspect left the store with an undisclosed amount of cash.

Fulton Police Chief Steve Myers said investigators were able to identify suspect Amon Macvittie based off of surveillance video.

With help from the Callaway County Sheriff's Office, officers located Macvittie at his residence in Fulton, where Myers said he put up a fight before being taken into custody.

Macvittie was arrested for armed robbery, armed criminal action, unlawful use of a weapon, resisting arrest for a felony, possession of a controlled substance and unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia. He was taken to the Callaway County Jail where his bond was set at $100,000.
