Johnson, William Woods men oust Park in overtime

Junior forward DJ Johnson's double-double lifted the Owls to a 78-72 American Midwest Conference overtime win over the Pirates on Saturday in their home finale.

Johnson racked up 14 points and a game-high 10 rebounds for William Woods (11-17, 8-12 AMC). The Owls outscored Park 11-5 in the extra session to avenge a 66-65 loss to the Pirates on January 10 in Parkville.

Senior forward Nate Bitner led William Woods with 17 points on 5-of-12 shooting from 3-point range. Senior forward Derrick Hayes provided 16 points, while sophomore guard Alec Mulvihill scored 15.

The Owls travel to No. 2-ranked Columbia College for an AMC clash at 7:30 p.m. Thursday.
