Winter fun show at WWU

William Woods University will host a Winter Fun Horse Show Feb. 27-March 2 in the UPHA arena.

According to a press release, the event - sponsored by the Hunter/Jumper Show Team, Western Club and Saddle Seat Club - is open to William Woods students and outside competitors.

The who will start with jumpers at 4 p.m. Friday, hunters at 8:30 a.m. Saturday and western and saddle seat classes at 9:30 a.m. Saturday.Classes include hunter hack, western pleasure, English pleasure, equitation, three-gaited and five-gaited pleasure, pairs relay, hunters, jumpers, ground rails and cross rails.

Entry fee is $15 per class for hunters and jumpers and $10 per class for saddle seat and western.

"I'm really looking forward to helping run this show and ride in it because it is relaxed but still has a competitive edge," Caydie Bennett, president of the Hunter/Jumper Show Team, said in the release. "This will be my last winter fun show, as I graduate in the spring, so I'm pretty excited to be a part of it."
