Callaway County deputies assist Boone County deputies in vehicle pursuit

Callaway County deputies assisted Boone County deputies in a vehicle pursuit Thursday. The car chase started at about 2:25 a.m. Thursday when a Boone County deputy saw a vehicle run a red light near East Broadway and Keene Street.

The deputy pulled over the vehicle and spoke to the driver who then became belligerent, according to a Boone County Sheriff's Office press release. The deputy ordered the driver to exit his vehicle. When the driver would not step outside of his car, deputies attempted to remove him from his vehicle. The driver then sped off from the traffic stop location, according to the press release.

The pursuit began on East Broadway and continued east on Highway WW - into Callaway County.

Callaway County Sheriff's Office deputies deployed a tire deflation tool, which the driver hit. The driver continued driving east into Fulton before coming to a stop.

The driver - 24-year-old Dalton Perkins of Sturgeon, Missouri - was arrested and taken to the Boone County Jail by Boone County deputies. Perkins was arrested on charges of resisting arrest, with a $4,500 bond; driving while intoxicated, with a $500 bond; and failure to stop for a steady red light, with a $95 bond.
