William Woods men bow to Lindenwood-Belleville

Senior forward Nate Bitner's 19 points and seven rebounds paced the Owls in their 94-85 American Midwest Conference loss to the Lynx on Saturday at Anderson Arena.

It's a second consecutive loss for William Woods (9-16, 6-11 AMC), which also fell to Lindenwood-Belleville 69-66 on Jan. 3 in Bellville, Illinois.

The Owls trailed 47-41 at halftime and were unable to contain the Lynx torrid shooting in the second half. Lindenwood-Belleville - outscoring William Woods 48-43 after halftime - shot 53 percent from the field (32-of-60).

Sophomore guard Ryan Hill added 15 points for the Owls, while senior forward Derrick Hayes finished with 13. William Woods shot 49 percent (33-of-67) from the field and grabbed a 38-36 rebounding edge.

Craig Anderson poured in a game-high 29 points for the Lynx (16-10, 13-5 AMC). Jovan Leamy totaled 18 points and Jaccoby Anderson chipped in 13 points and led all players with nine rebounds.

Chris Deanes posted 12 points for Lindenwood-Belleville.

The Owls travel for an AMC tilt at Harris-Stowe at 7:30 tonight. William Woods bested the Hornets 65-56 on Jan. 6 in Fulton.
