The Ladybirds outscored the Lady Owls 33-14 in the second and third quarters combined, charging their way to a 57-37 Eastern Missouri Conference romp Thursday night.
North Callaway (15-7, 7-1 EMO) owned a slight 11-10 lead after one quarter, but outscored Silex 13-6 in the second quarter to stretch its advantage to 24-16 at the break. The Ladybirds then took control by outscoring the Lady Owls 20-8 in the third quarter, widening their lead to 44-24.
"We were consistent (on defense)," North Callaway head coach Matt Miller said. "We methodically beat them; we kept coming after them and coming after them.
"It wasn't flashy, by any means. We wore them down, basically."
Senior guard Elaine Brinker paired 15 points with nine steals and eight assists to guide the Ladybirds. Junior guard Maddie Ausfahl also provided 11 points and a team-high seven rebounds.
"We got a lot of buckets in transition," Miller said. "We had a lot of possessions and turned (Silex) over a lot."
Ashley Brown sparked Silex (12-11, 4-4) with a game-high 17 points, including four 3-pointers.
North Callaway (11-4) - led by junior center Katarina Roesner's career-high 18 points - prevailed 37-27 in the junior varsity contest.
The Ladybirds return home for an EMO matchup against Mark Twain at 6 p.m. Monday.
