Wildcats race past Chamois in SMC romp

NEW BLOOMFIELD - Five players were featured in double figures and the New Bloomfield Wildcats outscored the Chamois Pirates 27-9 in the second quarter of Tuesday night's 79-52 Show-Me Conference blitz.

New Bloomfield (11-11) turned a narrow 13-10 advantage after one quarter into a commanding 40-19 lead at halftime. The Wildcats carried a 61-36 edge into the fourth quarter.

Junior forward Leo Ramirez and freshman forward Jak Kitchens posted 15 points apiece to guide New Bloomfield. Junior guard Grant Nichols also tallied 14 points, senior forward Brady Wiler added 12 and junior guard Jacob Brown had 11.

Ramirez grabbed a team-high eight rebounds and Kitchens collected seven, while Nichols handed out six assists.

The Wildcats remain at home for an SMC contest against Tuscumbia at 6 tonight.
