Bulldogs rip Russellville in SMC victory

MOKANE - Senior guard Troy Hentges broke out for a game-high 31 points to fuel the South Callaway Bulldogs' 91-58 Show-Me Conference rout of the Russellville Indians on Tuesday night.

Hentges was one of four players to reach double figures for South Callaway (18-2, 5-1 SMC), which almost reached 100 points for the second home game in as many nights. The Bulldogs were coming off a 104-46 thrashing of Missouri Military Academy on Monday night.

South Callaway built a 31-15 lead after one quarter Tuesday night and charged into halftime with a 60-31 edge. The Bulldogs led 83-48 entering the fourth quarter.

Senior guard Cory Hanger provided 19 points for South Callaway, while senior guards Dax Helsel and Terry Miles logged 11 apiece. Hanger also came up with 10 steals, Helsel distributed six assists and senior forward Luke Horstman collected a team-high seven rebounds.

Levi Anderson guided Russellville with 28 points and Coy Bond contributed 20.

The Bulldogs travel to Fatima for an SMC contest at 6 tonight.
