Callaway players pick up all-state football accolades

Seven Callaway County football players were recently named to 2015 all-state teams selected by the media and high school coaches.

Chosen to the Missouri Football Coaches Association Class 3 second-team offense from Fulton was senior running back Travis Dean, while senior lineman Clayton Bristol and senior linebacker Kobe Kaminski were second-team picks on the defensive side. South Callaway senior lineman Dylan Bailey and North Callaway senior lineman George Jones were second-team selections on the MFCA's Class 2 offense and South Callaway senior linebacker Dillon Stone was a second-team defensive choice.

Meanwhile, Dean and Hornets senior receiver Radarion Glover were named to the media's Class 3 second-team offense and Kaminski was a second-team pick on defense. Bailey and Jones were also second-team selections on the Class 2 offense.

The 5-foot-11, 174-pound Dean became Fulton's single-season rushing leader before his high school career came to a premature end when he tore his ACL in a first-round district game against Boonville. Dean finished the season with 1,920 yards rushing and 25 touchdowns, and also had 12 catches for 150 yards and two scores.

Glover (5-10, 162) topped the Hornets with 47 receptions for 741 yards and eight touchdowns. The 6-1, 222-pound Kaminski paced Fulton's defense with 141 tackles (77 solo), including six for loss, and he recorded a sack, two interceptions and a fumble recovery.

Bristol (5-11, 245) logged 83 tackles (49 solo), including eight for loss. He also had an interception and a fumble recovery.

The 5-11, 220-pound Bailey was part of a South Callaway offensive line that helped the Bulldogs average 325.1 total yards per game, including 290.4 rushing. Jones (5-11, 260) anchored North Callaway's offensive line that allowed the Thunderbirds to average 247.7 total yards, including 150.8 rushing.

Stone (5-10, 225) topped South Callaway's defense with 72 tackles (27 solo), including 10 for loss. He tallied a sack, two interceptions, three fumble recoveries and scored a defensive touchdown and a safety.
