Holts Summit man stabbed in altercation

Authorities say the investigation is ongoing

The Callaway County Sheriff''s Office reported that a Holts Summit man was stabbed Tuesday night during an altercation.

Lt. Clay Chism with the Sheriff's Office said deputies responded to a report of a disturbance in the 3400 block of Meller Road at about 9:20 p.m. and when they arrived on scene minutes later, confirmed that a 22-year-old man had been stabbed.

The victim sustained non-life threatening injuries and was taken to a hospital in Jefferson City for treatment.

Chism said the suspect fled the scene before the deputies arrived and has since been identified. The sheriff's office is not releasing the suspect's identity at this time, as the investigation remains ongoing.

No arrests have been made at this time.
