Unbeaten Wildcats trip Fatima in SMC opener

WESTPHALIA - The unbeaten New Bloomfield Wildcats established control by outscoring the Fatima Comets 16-4 in the first quarter of their 73-68 win in Monday night's Show-Me Conference opener.

New Bloomfield (5-0) carried a 33-22 advantage into halftime and was in front 51-42 entering the fourth quarter. The Wildcats held on for the win despite being outscored by Fatima 26-22 over the final 8 minutes.

Senior guard Grant Nichols delivered a game-high 25 points to guide New Bloomfield, while sophomore forward Jak Kitchens added 19.

Nolan Huot and Will Robertson finished with 19 points apiece to pace the Comets.

The Wildcats travel to South Callaway for an SMC clash at 6 p.m. Friday.
