Lady Bulldogs pick apart Montgomery County in home opener

MOKANE - The South Callaway Lady Bulldogs bolted to a 20-2 advantage after one quarter in dismantling the Montgomery County Lady Wildcats 63-37 in Monday night's home opener.

South Callaway (2-0) stretched its lead to 31-11 at halftime and carried a 51-30 edge into the fourth quarter.

Sophomore forward Adrian Mann connected for 20 points to spark the Lady Bulldogs, while sophomore guard Ashley Potter supplied 17. Junior center Konnor Arrowood chipped in with nine points.

Kayla Schmidt topped Montgomery County with a game-high 21 points.

South Callaway dropped the junior varsity game 16-7 in two quarters. Sophomore center Makaela Pierson scored four points and junior guard Jordan Killion had three to account for the Lady Bulldogs' scoring.

South Callaway remains at home to open Show-Me Conference play against Tuscumbia at 6 p.m. Thursday.
