A Fulton man was arrested over the weekend for possession of methamphetamine with the intent to distribute, according to a Fulton Police Department press release.

Officers, the release stated, observed suspicious activity near Bluff and 12th Streets just after 1:30 a.m. Saturday. When officers attempted to make contact with Jeremy Edward Shiverdecker, he fled on foot through the yard of a nearby home, the release stated.

Fulton officers chased Shiverdecker and, while in pursuit, saw him throw an item into a nearby yard. Shiverdecker, 32 of Fulton, was apprehended and officers then searched the area. They discovered what they suspected to be methamphetamine, packaged individually for distribution, near the area where Shiverdecker was taken into custody.

Shiverdecker was arrested for possession of a controlled substance with intent to distribute and resisting arrest by flight. He was taken to the Callaway County jail and bond was set at $14,500.

The investigation is ongoing and charges are pending.
