An accident involving a moped on U.S. Highway 54 occurred Tuesday night.
Jessica C. Brothers, 29, of Holts Summit was driving her moped eastbound on U.S. 54 when Carolyn A. Rohrbach, 41, of New Bloomfield rear ended Brothers one and one fourth miles west of Center Street.
Brothers' 2015 Tao Tao moped was totaled and she was transported by a Callaway County ambulance with serious injuries. She was first sent to Capital Region Medical Center and then transferred to University Hospital in Columbia. Rohrbach's 2014 Nissan Rogue sustained moderate damage.
