Westminster suffers regular-season ending loss to Stephens

The Lady Blue Jays closed out their regular season with a close 5-4 non-conference loss to the Stars on Tuesday.

Junior Jessica Klutts - a Fulton graduate - fell in the No. 1 singles bout to Courtney Huels in back-to-back 6-1 showings, but teamed with junior Grace Sanford to blank the Stars' Margaret Thomas and Alissa Tranchilla 8-0 at No. 3 doubles.

Westminster (3-6) - the No. 4 seed in the St. Louis Intercollegiate Athletic Conference Tournament - clashes with No. 5 Fontbonne University at 11 this morning at the Dwight Davis Tennis Center.

The victor will play top-seeded Webster in a semifinal at 2 p.m. today. The loser will play either Greenville (Illinois) College or Blackburn (Illinois) College for fifth place, also at 2 p.m.
