Fulton shuts out Liberty for first win of the season

The Hornets broke into the win column behind their convincing 9-0 shutout of the Eagles on Tuesday.

Fulton - coming off an 11-1 North Central Missouri Conference home loss to Kirksville on Monday - is now 1-5 on the season.

"It feels good; from a confidence standpoint, it was important to get that monkey off our back," Hornets head coach Rob Fisher said. "The guys were really resilient and showed a lot of heart.

"They were really excited after the match and were giving each other high-fives."

Fulton returns home for a non-conference contest against Columbia Independent at 4:30 p.m. Thursday.
