Local volunteers - 455 to be exact - spent their Saturday mornings clearing Fulton streets of trash, recyclables and debris during the city's 15th annual Clean Sweep.

Sponsored by the Fulton Parks and Recreation Department, the event is a city-wide cleanup effort each spring. Volunteers registered ahead of time and picked up their supplies - a Clean Sweep T-shirt, gloves, trash bag and bag for recyclables - the morning of the Clean Sweep.

Per Clean Sweep guidelines, they left bags of trash on the curbside to be picked up by city trash crews. Volunteers groups varied from families and churches to 4H organizations to Boy Scout troops.
