Woman pleads guilty to charges in package theft case

Woman receives 5 years supervised probation, must pay $1,650 restitution

A Jefferson City woman charged with taking several packages in November pleaded guilty to amended charges she faced in the case.

Sarah Miller, 36, pleaded guilty to one count of felony stealing and two counts of misdemeanor stealing.

She had been charged with three counts of felony theft and one count of misdemeanor theft.

Miller was placed on five years supervised probation on the felony stealing charge and must also complete 30 days of shock detention with credit for time served. She must also pay $1,650 in restitution.

For the two misdemeanor stealing charges, she was ordered to serve a year in the Cole County Jail, but given credit for time served.

Authorities located Miller at a motel parking lot in Jefferson City. She was involved in thefts from locations not only in Jefferson City, but also Callaway County and Holts Summit.

Several shipping boxes and mailers that belonged to victims were found discarded in the grass in a Holts Summit subdivision.
