William Woods' Rushworth, Mansour add national golf honors

Will Rushworth and Celia Mansour - a pair of William Woods University freshmen - were named the NAIA national men's and women's golfers of the week, respectively, on Wednesday.

It was the second recognition in as many days for both Rushworth and Mansour, who were also selected as the American Midwest Conference golfers of the week Tuesday.

Rushworth - a Harrogate, England, native - has an average score of 74.13 in 15 rounds this season, including 30 birdies. Mansour, from Toulouse, France, is ranked third in the NAIA with a 71.91 average in 11 rounds and has 31 birdies.

The sixth-ranked William Woods women will seek their fourth straight tournament championship when they play next Monday and Tuesday in the Indiana State Spring Invitational. The No. 3 William Woods men will pursue their third victory in a row when they compete April 20-21 at the BEU/Mussatto Invitational in Macomb, Illinois.
