William Woods' win streak snapped by Lindenwood-Belleville

The Owls' four-game spurt was snapped in a narrow 2-1 American Midwest Conference loss to the Lynx on Friday.

William Woods (21-7, 8-4 AMC) managed just five hits and got its only run on freshman left fielder Patrick Dillon's RBI single to plate sophomore designated hitter Konrad Kemper (South Callaway) in the top of the fifth inning.

Lindenwood-Belleville (13-18, 9-6 AMC) posted single runs in the third and fourth frames to complete its scoring.

Senior shortstop Javier Ladesma was 2-for-4 with a double and a steal, while Dillon finished 1-for-3.

Senior starter John Cavness allowed all seven Lynx hits in taking the loss. Cavness pitched 6 2/3 innings, allowing two runs (one earned) and two walks, while striking out a pair.

The Owls wrapped up their series with Lindenwood-Belleville in a doubleheader played on Saturday. Results were not available at press time.
