Sophomore Gannon Withers carded a 44 to lead the Wildcats to their first victory of the season in Wednesday's quad meet with host Hallsville, Missouri Military Academy and Harrisburg.
New Bloomfield - which was playing without senior Ridge Martin because of an FFA activity - accumulated a 194 team score at Heritage Hills Golf Course. MMA came in second with a 203, Hallsville was third with a 212 and Harrisburg finished fourth with a 225.
Senior Tyler Grace chipped in with a 45 for the Wildcats, while juniors Derek Shikles and Grant Nichols contributed a 50 and 55, respectively.
Shikles and Nichols were playing in their first-ever team competition.
"I was really proud of the guys," New Bloomfield head coach Aaron Murphy said. "I told them that it was all about fighting through adversity and playing with a great attitude, and being patient, and they were able to do that."
The Wildcats play in the Callaway Cup at 4 p.m. Monday at Tanglewood Golf Course in Fulton.
