Wildcats bow to Jamestown

Seniors Tucker Lane and Brady Wiler, and junior Clay Jensen each went 2-for-4 in the Wildcats' 7-4 loss to the Eagles on Monday night.

Lane drove in two runs for New Bloomfield (0-3), while Jensen had a double.

Senior starter Sam Niedergerke took the loss for the Wildcats. Niedergerke allowed six runs on seven hits and issued three walks in 2 2/3 innings. Junior reliever Tyler Fennewald allowed just two hits over the remaining 4 1/3 innings.

The Wildcats opened Show-Me Conference play at state-ranked Fatima on Tuesday night. Results were not available at press time.

Fatima was ranked No. 3 in Class 3 in the Missouri High School Baseball Coaches Association's preseason poll.
