Fulton Police arrested Teresa L. Lopez, 40, just after noon Tuesday after police discovered several grams of methamphetamine, scales and packaging materials with her, according to a press release.

Fulton PD received a call of a shoplifting in progress at Family Dollar on Second Street near Memorial Park. While searching for three suspected shoplifters, a police officer found Lopez, who was identified as a suspect in the theft, walking away from the scene at about 12:14 p.m.

During the investigation, the officer said he found the methamphetamine. The officer also discovered that Lopez - of Mexico, Missouri - had two warrants out of Audrain County for second-degree burglary and a traffic offense, with a cash only bond of $6,500.

Fulton PD transported Lopez to the Callaway County Jail and charged her with distribution of methamphetamine near a park. Bond was set at $25,000.
