Westminster goes 1-1 SLIAC home matches

The host Lady Blue Jays ended an 11-year, 21-match losing streak to the Lady Gorloks with Saturday's 25-22, 25-17 and 27-25 St. Louis Intercollegiate Athletic Conference victory.

Later Saturday, Westminster College bowed to Greenville (Illinois) College 25-11, 25-22, 25-27 and 27-25 for its first conference loss. The Lady Blue Jays are now 7-8 on the season and 5-1 in the SLIAC.

Sophomore outside hitter Riley Lawrence and junior middle hitter Lexi Collier sparked Westminster's win over Webster University with 14 and 10 kills, respectively. Sophomore setter Kayla Reeg also accumulated 40 assists, while junior libero Caroline Will provided 22 digs.

In the Greenville loss, Collier led the Lady Blue Jays with 12 kills and Reeg chipped in with 40 assists and 15 digs. Will added a team-high 21 digs.

Westminster remains at home for a SLIAC match against MacMurray (Illinois) College at 7 tonight.
