A call about harassment led to an arrest and drug charges for a Fulton man wanted for failing to pay child support.

Fulton Police received a call about 9:50 p.m. Thursday in regards to harassment on West Reed Street, near Business 54. When officers arrived they made contact with Shaun Lateef Smith, 33, of Fulton. A press release alleges that Smith was operating a motor vehicle while his driver's license was revoked and he had two active failure to appear warrants, so he was taken into custody.

Officers claim that once Smith was in custody, officers found marijuana and crack cocaine in Smith's vehicle, the press release from the Fulton Police Department stated.

Smith was taken to the Callaway County Jail with a bond amount of $55,000 and is facing charges of possession of a controlled substance, possession with intent to distribute and driving with a revoked license.

He is also being held on a no-bond warrant out of St. Louis County. In May, he was charged with non-support and arrears in excess of 12 monthly payments. A warrant with no bond allowed was issued on July 8, according to online court documents. In 2009, St. Louis County Court ordered Smith to pay child support of $22 per child per month for four children in St. Louis County Court. In 2011, Audrain County Court ordered Smith to pay $361 per month child support to a different woman.
