Lady Bulldogs shut out by Eugene in SMC loss

MOKANE - The South Callaway Lady Bulldogs softball team managed just three hits in being shut out by the Eugene Lady Eagles in Tuesday night's 5-0 Show-Me Conference loss.

Eugene broke a scoreless tie with two runs in the top of the fourth inning and three in the fifth.

Senior catcher Anna Bartley and sophomore starter Konnor Arrowood were both 1-for-3 with a double for South Callaway (13-5, 2-2 SMC), while junior center fielder Kennedy Farley was 1-for-3 with a single.

Arrowood was tagged with the complete-game loss, allowing five runs on seven hits. She struck out four and walked four.

The Lady Bulldogs were also blanked in the junior varsity game 3-0.

South Callaway hosts New Bloomfield in an SMC matchup at 5 p.m. today.
